Protect Silk Island's stray animals

**UPDATE**

Our team was able to provide life saving support and care to over 500 stray animals on the island! Thanks to your support we were able to neuter and provide medical care to the animals in the region. Please support our project so that we can host future campaings in regions where the stray animals are still calling for our help.

Currently, hundreds of sick and injured stray animals need our support. A remote island in Cambodia, located in the Mekong River is overflowed with wandering vulnerable dogs and cats who are desperately looking for help. The island does not have a veterinarian, leaving many animals untreated and ultimately, dying. Furthermore, none of the animals are sterilized, and the high birth-rate of puppies and kittens is adding to already huge problem of disease and malnutrition.

The locals have tried to give a helping hand to the animals by administrating human medicine, this, however, as expected did not help the situation. Good to know is that the local community has collectively decided to refuse the killing of dogs for food, which sadly does happen in certain parts of the country.

Our research has uncovered that numerous animals are roaming the streets of Silk Island with open wounds, untreated infections and other chronic diseases. Our Stray Animal Care program in Southeast Asia is dedicated to providing the much-needed assistance to the animals on Silk Island, as well as keeping Silk Island dog meat-free in consultation with the local community.

Our goal is to provide lifesaving care and sterilization through surgical clinics which will treat the many sick animals of this island. Moreover, we want to engage with the local community and enlighten them on animal welfare, treatment of sick animals and the dangers of the dog meat trade.

To achieve this goal, we need your support. Please consider donating to the cause as it will enable us to treat as many vulnerable and sick animals as possible.
