***UPDATE February 2018***

Simba and Saeed are finally home! They are settling in very well and enjoy exploring their new home.

All further donations will go to our LIONSROCK Big Cat Sanctuary.

***

In April 2017, FOUR PAWS rescued the last two surviving animals in the abandoned zoo in Mosul (Iraq). Lion Simba was one of the animals that barely made it through the war. He was brought to a temporary rescue center in Jordan, where he could be nursed back to health and recover from his traumatic past.

A similar situation occurred in July 2017, when our team rescued thirteen animals from “Magic World”, a war-torn zoo near Aleppo, on a high risk mission. Lion Saeed was one of these animals and like Simba, he found a temporary home in Jordan to recover.

Two success stories we’re really proud of. Although we can give these young male lions an even brighter future. We hope to socialize them with lionesses in our beautiful sanctuary LIONSROCK in South Africa, where they can enjoy their lives under the African sun.
