Let’s end the abuse of big cats!
Big cats in need
The keeping of big cats is out of control. Thousands of them are kept in inappropriate conditions in Europe*. It is still legal to breed, sell and keep big cats such as lions and tigers. Severe welfare problems are caused by limited registration, uncontrolled breeding and the (illegal) trade of live cats as well as their parts and derivatives.
FOUR PAWS is committed to continue the fight to end the abuse of big cats. We already have been able to rescue more than 180 big cats. In our sanctuaries, they can experience for the first time what a species appropriate life looks like.
Lion Lenci for example, was displayed at a private zoo in a restaurant in Albania. He was suffering in a small cage for years. We were able to rescue him and now he enjoys his life in a wonderful enriched enclosure at our Big Cat Centre FELIDA. Tigers Jill and Sahib were forced to perform tricks in circuses for over 10 years until we gave them a safe and forever home at the Big Cat Centre TIERART.
With our 1250 hectare Big Cat Sanctuary LIONSROCK in South Africa and our sanctuaries in Europe, we can provide big cats in need a species-appropriate environment where they can act out on their natural instincts.
In order to continue our work for big cats in need, we need your support. Will you help us, to give them a home where they can be big cats again? To give them the care and support they so desperately need after years of abuse and exploitation?
Join our mission to end the cruel abuse of big cats and donate to give big cats in need a new life!
